Winds of relocation and continuation

What a major failure from my part.
This blog has not seen any new updates since April.
My apologies but I finally have all my news at once.
As you probably know sometimes "life" comes on the way.
An intensive study year has been completed successfully and now is the time to taste new winds.

First I should start by thanking my dear friend (check her blog!) for her efforts with Tsukifly brand and for acting as a representative for Tsukifly at IDOLL. Thus a trip to Asia was made possible and Tsukifly dresses and headbands were on display. What a lovely table and lovely models for Tsukifly!

Secondly, I have had rather a limited access to any materials such as fabrics, sewing machine etc. and this has made it difficult to make any new designs into reality despite my previous plans. Those designs are in my book and still on the list to be realized when the time and place so permits.

Additionally I wish to introduce the newest Tsukifly dress set. This is to conclude the relative silence in the field of new Tsukifly dresses / accessories.

(incl. the dress and the headdress)

Flower patterned fabrics in light colors accompanied with lace details. Fastening of the dress with ribbon to tie at the back along with snap fasteners. Smocked skirt part to resemble a bell shape. Made to fit various Yo-SD sized dolls. The dress comes with a matching flower headband. Please inquire if interested.

Finally, as the new year has arrived I wish to outline few plans regarding Tsukifly that are to take place during the coming year of 2016.
  • Relocation of Tsukifly blog to mark the change and reform. This is scheduled to take place during January and therefore any new updates will be written at the new location. The blog will cease to be updated in this Blogspot location and will relocate to its Wordpress address.
  • After relocation has been successful performed a monthly update with at least one new creation will be made each month (an ambitious promise I acknowledge that..).
  • Etsy Shop for Tsukifly has been opened. Find Tsukifly at Etsy.
I hope those who have been following the blog so far would kindly make their reappearance in the new blog after the relocation has taken place. Thank you for your support.

Major flower headband update

Long time no see!
I have been busy with all sorts of stuff, but that is of no relevance for this post. Possible only to justify my irregular / rare recent updates. Apologies about that.

A little holiday and those many materials I got for headbands made it possible to get on the business. Finally if I may say. Sketches have occupied my table, but nothing concrete was created until just very recently. Better later than never, right?
Idaheika's Ceylon modelling roseband with feathers

I was reminded about the fact that IDOLL is approaching. Tsukifly stock - headbands, jewellery and clothing will travel there for sale. I am eager to see how Tsukifly brand will be received there. Event prices may be attached on some products. Prices will be considered closer to the event in more detail as to minimize the effects of possible currency fluctuations.

First I will note that stock of around 25 OOAK Tsukifly headbands will be there. Some examples may be seen from these pictures. Mostly SD/Pullip/SG sized, but as they can be gently adjusted any design will fit smaller dolls as well. Whether SD design is plenteous on an MSD/Tiny is another matter though. Depends what one is looking for.
Idaheika's Ceylon with one of my
personal favourites
Rose cupcakes - may be tied on doll's head,
waist or even owner's wrist!
To my eyes these newer headband designs include plenty of foam roses together with different paper flower, feather, ribbon and/or lace details.
Sets of wreaths - two smaller, two bigger
Curious design in MSD/Tiny size

This time I wanted to make few in several different styles so that there would be larger selection of choice. At least for those who get to see the whole stock. These newer ones are exclusive for IDOLL. Only after the doll fair any remaining ones may be offered for sale.

Few simpler designs
Some prototypes will be there too. Like Rose cupcakes, two of them, which came out with rather varied list of possible usages. Alongside of rich rose/flower filled headbands are some simpler flower band designs as well as few wreaths - four in total.

Longer, but not too heavy in detail.
What comes to Tsukifly clothing stock it seems all those that are still around will be send off. Next weekend will show whether I am able to finish any new pieces in time to be included in the sales stock. Sketches for few supergem sized dresses are around, one for DDS size.

I hope this picture filled post is able to give you some idea of what will be available in IDOLL as well as what has been happening in "planning / preparation line" of Tsukifly despite been somewhat quiet lately.. Please keep checking back. I am going to update some pictures of what will be send in total.

Doll crew got a new member as well. She arrived in March, but while she did not have anything in right size to wear I was unable to take any proper pictures. Here is Ella (FL MNF Mio) and thus we finally have a MNF size model in around. Therefore we proudly present the first MNF sized Tsukifly dress - prototype so it is without tags and with minor errors. This may give you some idea what is coming. Currently I like to experiment Babydoll / Empire waist styled dresses. Something with buttons has been in my sketch book for a longer while Hope to see something done at some point as well. Plans are there.

Small headbands and furry hats

Maybe it is Christmas time or then just a feeling that there is plenty of things to do.
I am inspired to a certain degree (always the case when there is no time) and would love to try out various dress designs and other things. When I actually have time to do that remains a mystery. I am eagerly waiting for Christmas Holiday to begin (next week!).

As I said in my previous post I have been busy with commissions. I recently got a commission for full MSD dress set and I have visited fabric stores in order to find some suitable fabrics for it. I did do an extensive cleaning in my fabric box and put all my fabrics in the same place so they would be easy to find. There are so many and I still don't have enough!

Of course I do not feel like sewing all the time. So I wanted to make some more of the headbands. Now in smaller size as the previous ones were all for  SD/Super Gem sized. These three were made for Yo-SD/Tiny but also fit small headed MSDs.

Yesterday I finished one commissioned headband similar to the first design shown in these picture but in white / pale orange colors. So yes, these are available to be commissioned in the colors /sizes you wish for provided that I have the flowers around in that particular color / style.

The first design was sold before I had the chance to post it up in the store, but the other two similar designs will be available through the store.

Some quick pictures of the new furry hats I previously mentioned. There are three designs and they fit for heads 8-9 as well as 9-10 inch. Their insides are lined with japanese pattern fabrics. Strangely enough the animals seem to be straight out from Alice in Wonderland without me noticing it while making them. I guess it isn't very hard to figure out what is one of my favourite stories.. And certainly one of those that inspire me a lot.

Hisa made it back to me. She was having a new face-up with her twin sister Himawari ~ Both of them came back to me, Hisa home and Himawari to visit so I can take lovely twin pictures (Himawari just has to borrow someone's body.. ). They make nice models for the hats, don't you think?

I did make three hats out of the furry fabric until it ran out. However, I was left with tiny pieces and I didn't want them to go to waste. Thus I made a furry collar and an armwarmer for SD/Supergem girls. They are offered as a set. Nice for some winter themed pictures, right?

Now I am off to update the store so that these new furry wintery items will be available. Thank you for reading!

Tsukifly headpieces

I have been planning to write this for a while now.
Past week was productive as I got a real boost to make some new headpieces.
The previous ones were well received so I wanted to make some more.

These pictured here are all SD/SG sized ones, but there are few coming in tiny size when I get proper pictures of them.
Two headpieces with lace bands.

For some reason I like to have a bit ornate feeling in my headpieces, thus I wish to add a lot of flowers.
These are rather detailed in that sense. More small flowers to give details, even some glitter.

Finally I just need to show off my lovely model. She is Soom Sweet Witch in Grey skin tone. Sheri is her name. Currently I am travelling between two places while she needs to stay in one place. I miss her already, but at least I got few pictures to look at while being away. Her dreamy look is so lovely.

Sheri and a glimpse of one of the headpieces.

Currently working on:
- A candy pullip dress commission
- Tiny headpieces (x2)
- SD skirt (Macarons fabric)
- Jewellery pieces

The things mentioned on the list above are hopefully around sometime soon depending how I have time to complete them.
Keep checking back!

Tsukifly Mix&Match and headpieces

I have been inspired lately.
Unfortunately I have currently no access to any sewing machine so everything must be done by hand.
This takes time and effort, however, I consider the pieces made by hand as good in quality as those done by sewing machine. Very old fashioned ways, but that was how it was done before sewing machines.

Some of the new designs have been added to the store.
Recently my good friend featured Tsukifly's Storenvy shop in her blog. Thank you!
Please take a look, also for cute giveaways.
Her blog is named Caketown ~

She was also the one to introduce me Storenvy. I have been greatly inspired by the whole thing although I am still a bit unsure how the whole thing will start to work in the long run. Something that I have to see during longer period of time.

I was asked to do some Mix&Match with Tsukifly clothing. As I now consider I have enough stock around to try them on I also discovered that the skirts made in SD/SD13 size do fit nicely also on Supergem girls. Luella (Soom MD Cuprit) is wearing all possibly by me. The flower headpiece was done today, the choker has been listed for sale and the skirt and top will be there at some point. It is challenging for me to get whole pictures to function. I prefer close-ups. But my point here was that all the pieces can be worn together and are thus quite functional in my opinion.

Headpieces - Today's project
Well, not all were done today, as the first picture shows previously made pin with a beaded dragonfly and flower details. I just needed to get proper pictures of it. Had not done that yet. Luella is also wearing the black choker for the pictures so I got that one pictured as well. Happy about that.

Okay, these two headpieces were the ones I made today. I wanted something with a summer touch to it. Lace was used for the band itself with nice (and big!) flower details. I also love things that hang and therefore both of the pieces have something hanging from them. The other more than the other :) The pink one has a small pink ribbon and plain gold ring details, not really visible in the picture though (sorry!). The blue one had Alice in Wonderland white rabbit, chair and playing card attached on the other side while the other side has a spoon and a clock details. More of a theme headpiece.

I don't know about you, but I am complete fan of these headpieces.
It is likely that I will do some other colors and designs similar to these.
I also welcome commissions if there are any specific color combinations/designs you would like to see.
Always open to try out everything new.
